27/05/2021 (Agence Europe) – Reacting to the report published on Wednesday 26 May by the European Court of Auditors on gender mainstreaming in the EU budget (see EUROPE 12727/13), the European Commission said it “has not been able to fully accept” all the recommendations made by the Court. “That is not due to any substantial differences with respect to what we would like to achieve”, the Commission says. The “partially accepted” recommendations concern, for example, the collection of gender-disaggregated data. In a document annexed to the report, the institution states that it may have to assess the appropriateness of collecting and disseminating such data. It also stresses - on this and several other points - that it can hardly make commitments that concern the Member States directly or the content of future legislative proposals. (AC)
