The Council of the EU adopted a series of interinstitutional agreements on cohesion policy regulations on the first day of the Competitiveness Council meeting on Thursday 27 May.
Thus, the ministers adopted the Common Provisions Regulation (see EUROPE 12657/4, 12388/17), the regulation on the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund (see EUROPE 12654/22, 12619/22), the regulation on the European Social Fund plus (ESF+ - see EUROPE 12647/15), and finally, the regulation on European Territorial Cooperation (Interreg - see EUROPE 12615/16).
The various regulations are expected to be published in the Official Journal of the EU by the end of June, once the legal and linguistic clean-up is completed. The entry into force of the texts should take place the next day for all regulations, except for the one on the European Social Fund plus, which should enter into force during the month of July, we are told.
