IEA forecasts a major rebound in energy-related CO2 emissions

20/04/2021 (Agence Europe)After a drop in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, global energy-related CO2 emissions should increase by 1.5 gigatons in 2021 (+4.8%), according to the latest estimates of the International Energy Agency (IEA) published on 20 April. According to the IEA, this would be the second largest increase in emissions ever recorded, after the rebound in 2010 following the financial crisis.
