30/03/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Union has made little progress in improving overall employment, according to the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), which published an update of the Decent Work Index on Tuesday 30 March. According to the index, in 2019, 19 Member States were below their 2010 level, including those most affected by austerity measures, such as Greece, Italy and Spain. The best performing Member States include the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. For the trade union, green and digital jobs can be an interesting lever to improve the quality of jobs. There must also be a thorough reform of the EU’s economic governance. To access the index and the organisation’s report: https://bit.ly/3cxog9k (PH)
