26/03/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 25 March, the European Commission published additional reports fromTikTok, Twitter, Google and Microsoft on the measures taken by these platforms in February to put an end to disinformation on Covid-19 (see EUROPE 12621/26). The platforms that have signed the European Code of Practice on Disinformation report to the Commission on this issue every month (see EUROPE 12503/1). In their new reports, TikTok and Microsoft in particular, note a decrease in the number of uses of their Covid-19 tools in the EU compared to January. TikTok’s ‘Covid-19 Main Page’ was slightly less visited, especially in Italy, Spain and Germany, and the information tool that appears when searches for Covid-19 are made, together with the search engine Bing recorded almost 600,000 fewer visits.
