18/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – The High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, convened the Global Tech Panel for the first time on Thursday 18 February by videoconference. The meeting brought together leaders from the worlds of technology, civil society and diplomacy to reflect on how to join forces to address the opportunities and risks facing the world as it emerges from the pandemic. According to a statement from the European External Action Service, in the coming months, the panel members will work to explore potential areas of engagement, including the Covid-19 recovery, education, health, and working with partners in Africa on digital transformation. Created in 2018, the Global Tech Panel focuses specifically on the link between technology and the Common Foreign and Security Policy. (CG)
