15/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Sunday 14 February, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell welcomed the election, on 12 February, by 72 votes out of the 123 Member States of the International Criminal Court (ICC), of British lawyer Karim Khan to the post of prosecutor-general. “The ICC is bringing the perpetrators of the most horrific crimes to justice and holding them accountable. [...] The EU will continue to promote the ratification of the Rome Statute and to defend the work and independence of the Court”, Mr Borrell stressed on Twitter.
