Next step in public consultation on future Regulation to reduce methane leaks

08/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 5 February, the European Commission opened the second phase of public consultation on its future proposal for a European Regulation to prevent methane (CH4) leakage in the energy sector. Included in the initiatives package ‘Fit for 55’ planned for June 2021, this proposal for a Regulation is part of the European strategy on methane presented in mid-October 2020 (see EUROPE B12581A9).
