Statutory minimum wages in EU rose between January 2020 and January 2021 despite pandemic, according to Eurofound

08/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – Due to low inflation, workers in the EU and the UK have seen a real, albeit moderate, increase in their monthly minimum wages (12 monthly payments) between January 2020 and January 2021, according to a Eurofound study published on Monday 8 February. The highest increases have been observed in Central and Eastern Europe, for example in Latvia (+16.1% compared to 2020, to reach €500) and Slovenia (+8.9%, €1024).
