12/01/2021 (Agence Europe) – The proposal to extend the temporary regulation 2020/698 - itself aimed at extending the validity of certain certificates, licences or approvals required in the transport sectors and postponing certain periodic checks and continuing training - “is on track to be presented still this month”, a Commission official confirmed to EUROPE on Monday 11 January. The European Commissioner for Transport, Adina Vălean, committed herself at the beginning of December 2020 to presenting this proposal, which is considered urgent by many Member States, who have since become impatient (see EUROPE 12630/3). However, the drafting of the new text required “a consultation of all Member States and a thorough analysis of their specific needs” explained the same official. (AC)
