European Parliament committee supports agreements on Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps for 2021-2027

12/01/2021 (Agence Europe)On Monday 11 January, the European Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Education confirmed the interim agreements reached with the Council of the EU on the Erasmus+ programmes and the European Solidarity Corps. These results were announced on Tuesday 12 January. The 29 MEPs supported the €26 billion Erasmus+ programme, whose main objectives are to promote learning mobility in education and training, non-formal and informal learning mobility, and learning mobility for sports personnel (see EUROPE 12622/27). For the Solidarity Corps, 28 deputies voted for the interim agreement, and one abstained. This programme should enable young Europeans to participate in a range of solidarity activities through voluntary work, internships or fixed-term jobs within the EU (see EUROPE 12622/28). (SPj)
