12/01/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 11 January, the European Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Education confirmed the interim agreement reached in mid-December with the Council of the EU on the Creative Europe programme (see EUROPE 12623/2). All 29 MEPs who voted supported the text that sets out the details of the programme for the 2021-2027 period. The programme has a specific budget of €2.4 billion, i.e. €1.8 billion in current prices and an additional €0.6 billion at 2018 prices. It aims to promote cultural and linguistic diversity, heritage and competitiveness, and to enable cultural and creative organisations and professionals to create together, cooperate across borders, and reach a wider audience.
