According to Eurostat, almost 7% of EU population cannot afford to heat their homes sufficiently

07/01/2021 (Agence Europe)Approximately 6.9% of the EU population could not afford to heat their homes sufficiently in 2019, according to new figures released by Eurostat on Wednesday 6 January, based on an EU-wide survey. According to the EU's statistics office, this percentage has been falling steadily for several years, after reaching a peak in 2012 (10.8%). The survey also shows a significant disparity between Member States. The countries with the most worrying results are Bulgaria (30.1%), Lithuania (26.7%), Cyprus (21.0%), Portugal (18.9%), Greece (17.9%) and Italy (11.1%). On the contrary, Finland, Austria, Sweden, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Estonia and Germany had comparatively good figures at around 2%. See Eurostat figures: http://bit.ly/3nrjVXb (DG)
