03/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament and the Council failed to reach agreement on the revision of Regulation 715/2007 on emissions from light-duty vehicles on Wednesday 2 December, in particular on the exclusion of the conformity factor. In particular, the blocking would relate to the fixed date desired by the European Parliament to exclude the conformity factor, i.e. 30 September 2022, i.e. the ratio between the limit measured in tests for polluting emissions and the regulatory limit for these same emissions in the ‘Real Driving Emission’ test. This proposal is not acceptable to the Council because it is still impossible to predict technological progress with such accuracy. The date of the next interinstitutional meeting was not yet known to us at the time of writing. (PH)
