19/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – Despite hopes (see EUROPE 12603/22), the European Parliament and EU Council failed to reach agreement on Wednesday 18 November on the Regulation on the coordination of social security systems, due to persistent disagreement on prior notification before sending a worker to another Member State, and the issue of exporting unemployment benefits for cross-border and frontier workers. The next interinstitutional meeting should take place on 7 December, unless no progress has been made at technical level. EUROPE will continue to follow this story. (PH)
