19/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – Several European leaders, including the Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and French President Emmanuel Macron called on their European partners on Thursday 19 November to speed up preparations for a lack of agreement with London on the future post-Brexit relationship between the European Union and the United Kingdom, two diplomatic sources confirmed. This request was only a quick point during the videoconference amongst the EU27, whose principal purpose was to take stock of the second wave of Covid-19. Negotiations with London were not discussed. They are in the process of trying to tie up a deal in the next few days. But negotiations were momentarily interrupted on Thursday between the EU’s chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, and his British counterpart, David Frost, at least in person, due to a case of Covid-19 in Mr Barnier’s entourage.
