10/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – “Migrants are not a threat” and “we should not be afraid of them”, EU Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson insisted several times on Tuesday 10 November during a discussion on the new Pact on Migration and Asylum. “There may be problems with a few individuals, but migration in itself is not a danger and can be fully managed”, the Commissioner added to the European Policy Centre. The EU official was obviously referring to the forthcoming Interior Ministers’ debates on 13 November on the response to terrorism, with draft declarations having circulated and in fact referring to the integration of migrants and possible sanctions for those who would not want to integrate and adhere to EU values.
