10/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson described the extraordinary meeting of the Frontex management board on 10 November, convened on the same day to discuss accusations of refoulement of migrants against the agency, as a “good start”. Frontex is reported to have actively assisted Greece in repeatedly pushing back migrant boats to Turkey (see EUROPE 12590/4), raising questions about how the EU agency respects fundamental rights. The Commissioner said she had submitted a questionnaire to Fabrice Leggeri, the agency’s executive director, hoping for a further meeting on the subject at the end of November, she indicated on her Twitter account. Frontex has not commented on this meeting. (SP)
