10/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 10 November, the European Commission officially launched the Pact for Skills, a central element of the strategy for skills in Europe (see EUROPE 12518/1). It also announced the first European skills partnerships in key industrial ecosystems, such as: construction, automotive, microelectronics, and aerospace and defence. The Pact for Skills encourages joint action to maximise the impact of investments in upgrading existing skills (upskilling) and training for new skills (reskilling). “The launch of the Pact for Skills is just the beginning of our European skills offensive”, said Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton.
