EU extends sanctions for unauthorised drilling activities by one year

06/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 6 November, the Council of the EU adopted a decision extending by one year, until 12 November 2021, the existing framework for restrictive measures in response to Turkey’s unauthorised drilling activities in the Eastern Mediterranean (see EUROPE B12595A17). Currently, two individuals linked to the Turkish oil company Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) are subject to an asset freeze and an EU travel ban (see EUROPE B12435A4).(CG)
