MEPs call for an ambitious and independent post-2020 Forest Strategy

The EU's post-2020 Forest Strategy, to be presented by the Commission in early 2021, should be “ambitious, independent and self-standing”, in line with the European Green Deal and ensure the continuity of the multifunctional role of forests, the European Parliament recommended on Thursday 8 October.

The report by Petri Sarvamaa (EPP, Finland) on the future EU Forest Strategy was adopted with 462 votes in favour, 176 against and 59 abstentions, with no changes in relation to the vote...
