11/09/2020 (Agence Europe) – According to our information, a further EU Council working party meeting is due to be held on Regulation 883/2004 on the coordination of social security systems on 21 September. For the time being, there are still three major issues that need to be resolved before negotiations with the European Parliament can be concluded: - the duration of unemployment benefits for frontier workers; - the definition related to pluriactivity; - and the most difficult point in the negotiations: prior notification in the case of posting of a worker subject to exemption conditions (see EUROPE 12507/22). The aim of the German EU Council Presidency would be to resume negotiations with Parliament on 30 September, which have been at a standstill since December 2019 (see EUROPE 12387/18). (PH)
