New European Commission proposals on ending discards at sea

31/08/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Friday, 28 August, the European Commission presented a delegated act amending delegated Regulation 2019/2238 regarding high survivability and de minimis exemptions applicable to certain demersal fisheries in the North Sea. On 29 May 2019, the relevant countries submitted a joint recommendation to the Commission on how to implement the landing obligation for demersal fisheries in the North Sea.
