EBA publishes list of national bank guarantee schemes applied to contend with Covid-19 pandemic

Brussels, 23/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 21 July, the European Banking Authority (EBA) published a list of 47 national, regional, and local guarantee schemes in the banking sector that 23 Member States plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway are implementing to contend with the Covid-19 pandemic. This list complements its recent report on national and European measures—such as the introduction of moratoria on bank loan repayments—taken to encourage the industry to continue financing the real economy (see EUROPE 12526/14).
