22/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 22 July, the European Commission launched a public consultation on possible new measures it should take to facilitate the integration and social inclusion of migrants, it announced in a press release. It also launched a call for applications to set up an expert group of people with a migrant background to participate in the development and implementation of policies on migration, asylum and integration. The results of the consultation will contribute to the development of the Action Plan on Integration and Inclusion that forms part of its work programme and is scheduled for later this year. The public consultation is open until 21 October 2020 and the call for applications until 21 September. The Pact on Migration and Asylum, which is expected in the autumn, will also need to address the issue of the inclusion of migrants and refugees in European societies.
