European Parliament calls on Commission to provide “ambitious” post-2020 strategy for people with disabilities

On Thursday 18 June, by an overwhelming majority (653 votes for and six against, with 29 abstentions), the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling on the European Commission to present an “ambitious” post-2020 strategy for people with disabilities that involves as many policy areas as possible.

The resolution follows on from the debate held at the European Parliament plenary session last December (see EUROPE B12392A9). The resolution was ready in March but the vote on it was...
