MEPs say no to extension of authorisation of some 30 pesticides, some of which are officially toxic

For public health reasons and on the grounds of compliance with the REACH legislation, MEPs in the European Parliament's Environment and Public Health Committee (ENVI) on Monday 8 June vetoed two European Commission proposals to authorise or extend the authorisation of active substances in pesticides in the EU, some of which are classified as toxic and should be banned under the REACH regulation.
