Pierre Gattaz re-elected President of BusinessEurope

09/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Council of Presidents of BusinessEurope unanimously re-elected Pierre Gattaz as President of BusinessEurope for a second 2-year term at its meeting by videoconference on Friday 5 June. As a reminder, Mr Gattaz was first elected in May 2018 (see EUROPE 12023/22). He has indicated his priorities for his new term: – supporting the Green Deal and digital transformation; – deepening the single market; – strengthening key industrial value chains and ecosystems; – defending rules-based international trade; – encouraging structural reforms in the Member States. The aim is to enable prosperity, “the basis to invest in social and environmental protection”; “this fundamental truth will continue to guide BusinessEurope’s actions for the community”, he added. (PH)
