04/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Monday, 8 June, the European ministers responsible for development will hold an informal videoconference chaired by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell. This virtual conference will focus on assistance deployed by the EU to the most vulnerable countries as part of the global response to the Covid-19 pandemic. A representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) will join the Ministers at the end of the discussion. Among items on the agenda, is an expected discussion between ministers on negotiations between the EU and ACP countries (Africa/Caribbean/Pacific) on the future modernised post-2020 ACP-EU Partnership Agreement. The Cotonou Agreement expired last February and the outcome of the negotiations is expected to be published in the coming weeks. A final trading session is scheduled for 12 June. (AN)
