12/05/2020 (Agence Europe) – Three national business organisations, Medef (France), BDI (Germany) and Confindustria (Italy), put forward, on Tuesday 12 May, a series of proposals to revive the European economy after the Covid-19 pandemic. They say “a substantial amount of stimulus from both the national and the European level” will be necessary at least until 2023, “up to 5% of GDP in most nations per annum”. They are calling for “true fiscal solidarity” through the establishment of “common resources” for the States most affected by the pandemic. They also would like to see an extension of the duration of the flexibilities introduced by the European Commission for State Aid rules. To view the proposals: https://bit.ly/2WNNKGq (PH)
