The European Commission approved, on Thursday 7 May, requests for support by 18 Member States for the preparation of their territorial Just Transition Plans under the Just Transition Mechanism.
This approval follows a specific call launched by the Commission at the end of February in the context of the structural reform support programme. Internally, it has been made clear that this is the approval of requests for assistance and not national transition plans.
