Work on Commission's guidelines for restoring transportation services 'still ongoing'

06/05/2020 (Agence Europe) – Work on the new guidelines, announced for mid-May by the European Commission (see EUROPE 12477/4) "is still ongoing in terms of the final details," said Matthew Baldwin, Deputy Director General of the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE), on Wednesday 6 May. He was speaking at a conference on freight organised by The European Logistics Platform (ELP). These specific guidelines will focus on restoring mobility taking into account the health situation and will apply to transport within and between Member States, Mr Baldwin confirmed. Priority will be given to "proportionate non discriminatory reinforcement measures to support transport services while at the same time fully protecting passengers and transport workers", he added.
