Videoconference of Ministers responsible for Tourism. – Exchange of information and best practices on the support measures taken so far at national level to address the consequences for the sector of the measures taken to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and on the actions to be taken in the future at national and EU level to ensure the rapid recovery of the sector.

Committee activities (all meetings are online): – ECON: Debate with Vice-President Dombrovskis (Economics at the service of people) and Gentiloni (Economics) on the economic impact and EU response to the COVID-19 pandemic). – LIBE: exchange of views with different stakeholders on the situation in Libya and along the Central Mediterranean migration route. – INTA: virtual meeting of shadow rapporteurs on future relations between the EU and the United Kingdom. – SEDE: discussion of the draft report on EU-Africa security cooperation in the Sahel region, West Africa and the Horn of Africa (rapp. Nart); consideration of the draft report on arms exports: implementation of Common Position 2008/944/CFSP (rapp. Neumann); examination of the draft opinion on the framework for ethical aspects of artificial intelligence, robotics and related technologies (rapp. Paet).

Videoconference of Ministers of the Interior. – Response to COVID-19: situation and measures to be taken at internal and external borders to guarantee health security and the free movement of goods with a view to relaxing or lifting internal border controls; coordination of measures to prevent the spread of the virus and the possible use of tracing applications; report on the implementation of the Commission guidelines on asylum, return and resettlement in the context of the response to the pandemic; coordinated response and cooperation to deal with the criminal activities caused by the pandemic (trafficking, scams, etc.). – Migration: current situation, in particular at the border with Turkey and in the western and central Mediterranean; transfer of unaccompanied minors from Greece to other Member States.
