14/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – The EU's chief negotiator on the future relationship with the United Kingdom, Michel Barnier, who has recovered from COVID-19 and was back in his office on Tuesday 14 April, will meet with his British counterpart, David Frost, by telephone on 15 April to discuss the next rounds of negotiations over the future relationship. While several media reported last weekend that negotiations could resume on 20 April, the European Commission did not want to confirm this, nor did it want to specify a timetable until 15 April when the two men had spoken by telephone. The round of talks, which began in early March, has been disrupted by the epidemic, which has also affected the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson. He was discharged from hospital on Sunday 12 April, but is still recovering. (SP)
