14/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – The French government will present a draft corrigendum to the Finance Law for 2020 attempting to reflect the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the French economy, anticipating a recession and a public deficit of -8.0% and -9.0% of national GDP respectively. The longer-than-expected quarantine “will have a stronger impact on our national growth” and will “worsen the figures in the public accounts”, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said Tuesday on BFMTV and RMC. These data are unprecedented since the end of the Second World War. (MB)
