Eurojust supports several investigations into online fraud exploiting COVID-19 pandemic

08/04/2020 (Agence Europe)Eurojust said on Wednesday 8 April that it was supporting several cross-border investigations into criminal organisations exploiting the COVID-19 pandemic. Several files were opened within the agency to support investigations into online fraud involving the sale of fake face masks and hand sanitisers in Germany and France. Eurojust is also active in an investigation into criminals who hacked into the computer system of a hospital in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the agency reports that it has stepped up its support to national judicial authorities for the execution of the European arrest warrant during the crisis. It will participate, in cooperation with the European Judicial Network and the Secretariat-General of the EU Council, in the Crisis Management Group on the European Arrest Warrant which the European Commission will set up at the end of May (see EUROPE 12462/7).
