25/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 24 March, the European Commission opened a public consultation on the revision of the Industrial Emissions Directive (2010/75), the European Union’s main instrument regulating pollution from industrial plants. Scheduled for 2021, the review will consist of updating EU legislation to ensure that industry makes the best possible contribution to improving the EU’s environment. “Its objective is for industry to use the most suitable techniques for a more sustainable EU economy and a cleaner environment that benefit the health of citizens”, explains the Commission. Stakeholders have until 21 April to submit contributions to this consultation. (DG)
