05/03/2020 (Agence Europe) – The Director General of the European Commission’s DG Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE), Henrik Hololei, said on Thursday 5 March that hydrogen represents the most promising route to decarbonation. Mr Hololei was invited to speak at an event organised by Hydrogen Europe on the issue of the deployment of hydrogen fuel cell trucks and their infrastructure. Hydrogen, the managing director stated, is ideal for trucks and buses. “It is important to accelerate our efforts to bring hydrogen fuel cell technology to the European market, as it is essential to achieve the Green Deal objectives”, he said in a press release. A Hydrogen Alliance is expected to be one of the initiatives of the European Commission’s future industrial strategy, expected next week. (AC)
