26/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – European Commission Vice-President and High Representative of the Union Josep Borrell, who will attend the meeting of the European and AU Commissions in Addis Ababa on Thursday 27 February, will hold talks with the Ethiopian Prime Minister the following day, before travelling to Sudan (29 February and 1 March). In Khartoum, where he is due to meet the Prime Minister, Abdalla Hamdok, and the President of the Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, he will deliver a message of support for the transition to civilian leadership (see EUROPE 12386/1). He will meet with the Foreign Ministers of the member countries of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and deliver a speech at the University of Khartoum. On Sunday, Josep Borrell will visit a camp for displaced persons in Darfur. Mr Borrell’s presentation of the communication on the future comprehensive EU strategy with Africa is scheduled for 4 March. (AN)
