The European Parliament's Committee on Transport (TRAN) gave its backing, on Wednesday 19 February, to maintaining the conformity factors for car manufacturers.
It adopted by a large majority (38 votes in favour and 7 against) the opinion of the rapporteur, Sven Schulze (EPP, Germany), on the European Commission's legislative proposal (see EUROPE B12275A15) to lay down rules on motor vehicle emissions (Euro 5 and Euro 6 standards).
