07/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 5 February, the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and the European Public Service Union (EPSU) published their recommendations for ensuring that the views of sectoral social partners of local and regional governments are duly taken into account within the 'European Semester' budget process. They are calling for greater transparency in the decision-making process during the 'European Semester', including through information sessions and training events. They are also proposing an ad hoc grant from the European Commission's Directorate-General for Employment to strengthen the dissemination of information and consultation with social partners on the budgetary process.
