04/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament and the EU Council discussed for the first time, on Tuesday 4 February, the draft regulation establishing the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for the post- 2020 period. The interinstitutional negotiation session in trilogues lasted only about thirty minutes, as the two co-legislators preferred to wait until they had a better view of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027 which could emerge at the extraordinary meeting of European leaders on 20 February (see EUROPE 12412/17), before deepening the negotiations at political level. The next trilogues are scheduled for 11 and 31 March. (PH)
