04/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – The latest monthly report on agri-food trade, released on Tuesday 4 February, shows that the monthly value of EU agri-food exports in November 2019 continued to rise from the November 2018 level. At €13.43 billion, the 2019 value was 7.3% higher than the previous year's level. Monthly agri-food imports decreased slightly to €9.78 billion, 5.7% less than in November 2018. As a result, the monthly trade surplus of the agri-food sector reached €3.65 billion. The highest increases in the monthly value of exports were recorded for products to China, Turkey and Egypt. The increase was driven mainly by pork, wheat and offal. The monthly report presents an overview of agri-food trade in the last 12-month period. (LC)
