08/01/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) announced on Wednesday 8 January that it wants to focus on the implementation of the Clean Energy Package in the year 2020, in order to contribute to the EU's decarbonisation efforts and the European Green Deal more extensively. “Many challenges and opportunities are awaiting the Agency in the next months, with the implementation of the Clean Energy for All Europeans Package, as well as with the recast of the ACER Regulation which [...] has allocated new tasks and responsibilities”, said Christian Pilgaard Zinglersen, who has just succeeded Alberto Pototschnig as Director of the Agency. In charge of coordinating and complementing the work carried out by the national regulatory authorities at EU level, ACER also underlined the importance of its role in the completion of the internal energy market.
