06/12/2019 (Agence Europe) – As part of its private storage aid programme for olive oil launched in November (see EUROPE 12374/14), the European Commission, supported by the EU Member States, accepted on 28 November a modest volume of 3 650 tonnes (t) of olive oil (categories 'virgin' and 'lampante') in private storage, in the first of the four calls for tenders planned. Tenders were received only from Spain. The aid will be a maximum of €0.83 per tonne/day for the 'virgin' (2 850 t) and 'lampante' (800 t) categories (no tender for extra virgin olive oil). Tenders for the next call for tenders must be submitted to the national authorities of the producer Member States by 17 December at the latest, for a decision to be taken on 19 December. (LC)
