Many EU partner countries continue to face higher levels of inequality than 30 years ago, posing a threat to the implementation of the UN’s 2030 agenda for sustainable development, the EU Council stressed on Monday 25 November.
In its conclusions, adopted without debate, on the theme ‘Addressing inequality in partner countries’, the EU Council notes that inequalities are a major obstacle to poverty eradication and sustainable economic growth.
