14/11/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament approved (558 votes in favour, 63 against and 43 abstentions), on Thursday 14 November in Brussels, a proposal to mobilise the EU Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) for €1.6 million to help 400 Belgian workers made redundant by Carrefour find a job (see EUROPE 12342/30). Aid should provide these people with career counselling services, vocational training and entrepreneurship advice. The total funding amounts to €2.7 million (EGF contribution of €1.6 million). The proposal has yet to be approved by the EU Council, which has not yet found a qualified majority in favour of this aid. (LC)
