05/09/2019 (Agence Europe) – The mayors of Barcelona (Ada Colau), Cologne (Henriette Reiker) and Stockholm (Anna König Jelmyr) sent a letter to the President-elect of the next European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on Thursday 5 September. Their request: to allocate a portfolio dedicated to urban policy at the highest level within her future European Commission. For the three signatories, cities play a key role in achieving the key objectives set by the President-elect, particularly in the fight against climate change and the democratisation of the EU. They therefore request that a Vice-President be in charge of urban affairs in the next European Commission. To consult the letter: http://bit.ly/2lEnZcs (PH)
