26/07/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Friday 26 July the opening of a “structured and inclusive” consultation process on the future strategic direction of the Eastern Partnership. This enhanced cooperation between the EU, its Member States and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019 (see EUROPE 12253/5, 12294/13). In this context, the European Council asked the Commission and the European External Action Service to submit proposals for the future of this Partnership. The Commission has therefore launched a consultation on the new post-2020 policy framework of the Eastern Partnership, open until 31 October to Member States and partner countries, including civil society components, the private and business sector, international institutions and organisations, the media, associations and think tanks.
