19/07/2019 (Agence Europe) – On 10 July, WindEurope published a paper exploring the benefits and market opportunities for hybrid power plants with renewable energy production. These plants are capable of coupling the activity of a thermal power plant with a renewable energy production unit, which is a model that is attracting more and more countries. WindEurope proposes a set of definitions to clearly establish these hybrid power plants in the regulatory framework, identifies a number of common challenges for their development and presents a set of policy recommendations to accelerate their market uptake.
